Finis Kirby

Finis J. Kirby, age 91, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on February 6, 2017 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on December 11, 1925 in Crossroads, Tennessee to Royal Hail and Ausie Lee Kirby. He was a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas, and he was a World War II Navy Veteran and a 32nd Degree Mason.
He is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Ruth Virginia Kirby, his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Polk (Patrick) and son, Randy Kirby (Kathy). He will be missed by his four grandchildren Ginger (Stephen), Bradley (Mindi), Donya, and Deanne (Ron). He also has 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and other extended family that will miss him dearly.

He quietly and reverently set the bar high for his family as an example as how one should live.

Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. on February 21, 2017 at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home, 7700 Highway 107. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on February 21, 2017 at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
The Kirby family would like to convey a special thanks to the Palliative Care Unit at the Little Rock VA Medical Center who provided great care for Mr. Kirby.
