Ferris Symonds

Ferris Symonds, age 86, of Newhope, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025.

He was born on January 29, 1939, in Tooele, Utah. He was the son of Alfred Glenn Symonds and Daisy Bates Symonds. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Terry Symonds; and his wife, Nancy Symonds.

Ferris married the love of his life, Nancy, on April 20, 1962. For many years he worked as a mechanic at the Tooele Army Depot. He was also a part of the Moose Lodge. Ferris was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Kevin and Crystal Symonds, Karla and Jason Layton, and Diane and Greg Smith; his grandchildren, Haylie Smith, Zach Layton, Skyler Symonds, and Cassie and Colby Leto; his three brothers and sister-in-law, Norman Symonds, Glenn (Smiley) Symonds, and Neil and Sherry Symonds; his three sisters, Shirley Kelley, Carma Darr, and Iris Tucker; his special friend, Mandy Kennedy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Bissell Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Lock officiating.
