Ferrell Lewis Childress

Ferrell Lewis Childress, age 82, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Glenwood, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019. He was born on January 12, 1937, in Bismarck, the son of Joseph Clark Childress and Katie Mae Gardner Childress. On August 14, 1965, he was married to Sheila Arivett Childress, who preceded him in death on August 20, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Cleda Freeman. He served for over twenty years in the U.S. Air National Guard and was a member of the Glenwood Church of Christ. Ferrell was truly loved by his family and many friends, especially his fishing buddies and co-workers, and he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Dewey Small of Jacksonville, Florida; his brother-in-law, Bill Freeman of Bismarck; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 12, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with John Hall officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
