Fern Clark, 71, of Hickory Plains, Arkansas, was born February 6, 1939, in Hickory Plains to William Harvey and Veda Mae (Dearing) Hamric, and she died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at her home. She never met a stranger and was a wonderful wife, mother and friend. She was the strength of her family. Fern was an avid gardener and was a member of Hickory Plains Nazarene Church.
She is survived by her husband of 47½ years, Olen Gene Clark; seven children, Mary Tupper of Flint, Texas, Tammy Smith of Baytown, Texas, William Fogarty (Tammie) of Port Acres, Texas, Carol Tiller (Kevin) of Orangefield, Texas, Debbie Slampa (Billy) of Nederland, Texas, Russell Clark (Lyndilyn) of Hickory Plains, and Ken Clark (Donna) of Hickory Plains; twenty-one grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four brothers, Tobe Hamric (Susie), Eugene Hamric (Martha Jean), Johnnie Hamric (Bonnie) and Sonny Hamric (JoAnn); one sister, Catherine Schott; and one sister-in-law and best friend, Iva Hamric. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Hickory Plains Cemetery.
