Faunice Wyatt Chew of Mayflower peacefully returned to be with our Heavenly Father and her beloved husband Max L. Wyatt on August 5th, 2011.
Faunice was born October 30, 1931 to James and Katherine Jane Spencer in Tremonton, Utah. She was the youngest of 9 children. Faunice met the love of her life, Max L. Wyatt and together they raised 4 children - Timothy, Fabinne, Rose and Betty. As a military wife she accompanied her husband for twenty years as he was assigned from Alaska to Bermuda and many places in between. During this time she was a homemaker and tended to the home fires while Max was often deployed. When the family returned to Arkansas after her husband's retirement, she worked as a sales clerk and as a forklift driver at Maybelline.
It has been said of her, "She knew how to care". That phrase is a perfect description of who she was. She never tired of helping all who crossed her path, even in the midst of her battle with cancer. She was like a second mother to her grandchildren Max and Abby whom she loved as deeply as any mother would love her child. She always put the needs of others before herself. She served as a volunteer for veterans at the Veteran's Hospital where she gave tirelessly of her time, joyful spirit and gift of gab. Her brave and fearless spirit will forever serve as an example to all who knew and loved her. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Faunice is preceded in death by her daughters Fabinne Brinker and Katherine Wyatt, her grandson Curtis Wyatt, and her second husband Clyde Chew. She is survived by her son Timothy Wyatt; two daughters, Rose Schlosser and Betty Martinez; her sons-in-law Pete Martinez, Skip Schlosser and Jim Williams; and her step daughter Beth Janes, her grandchildren Debra, Jessica, Cory, LeAnn, Max and Abigail; and many great grandchildren as well as many children she took under her wing. Momma, you will forever be in our hearts. We love you "where it never, never, never ends". P.S. Let Daddy get a word in edgewise ?
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 9th at the North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas.
