Everett Horton

Everett Leon Horton, 73, of Maumelle went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2014. He was born February 10, 1940 in Calhoun County, Arkansas to the late Everett and Annie Horton. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Maumelle, Leon was a graduate of State Teachers (UCA) and he received his MSW at the University of Arkansas in Fayettville. He retired after 30 years from the Federal Prison System as a Social Worker. He was a sports fan and an avid razorback fan.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Landrum- Horton, of Maumelle; sons, Rick Horton, of Phoenix, Arizona and Robert Kent Davenport, of Little Rock; daughter, Karen Davenport-Campanale (Tony) of North Hollywood, California; grandchildren, Phillip Davenport (Ashley), John Davenport (Tori), Stephen Davenport (Melissa) and Mary Holman (Jeremiah); great-grandchildren, Isabella, Haley, Barrett Davenport and Emily and Daniel Holman; brother, Tim Horton, of Sherwood; and his niece, Kimberly Lynch.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
