Everett Kenneth Burnam

Everett Kenneth Burnam, of Little Rock, Arkansas, was born on November 20, 1929, in Elk City, OK and passed to eternal life on March 21, 2023, at the age of 93.  He was preceded in death by wife, Ina Lee Haynes Burnam; parents, Truemond C. Burnam and Dovie Lennington Burnam; sisters, Wanda Parker, and Mildred Robson; brother, Wayne Burnam; son, P. Michael Burnam; son-in-law, Chris E. West, and grandson, Lucas C. Hunsicker.

He is survived by his children, Elizabeth A. Hunsicker (Spurg) of Sherwood, AR, M. Sue Herr (Bob) and Brenda Jeanne West of North Little Rock, AR, Gregory W. Burnam (Brenda) of Loxley, AL, and Julia F. Cawthron of Little Rock, AR.  He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

As a member of Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church for over 60 years, Everett was a devout Catholic and along with his wife instilled the gift of faith to all six of their children.  He was a member of the Holy Souls Seniors for many years and enjoyed the meetings, the trips, outings, supper club and most of all the friendships that he made through the years.

Everett was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Germany during the Korean War and served an additional 9 Years in the Oklahoma Army National Guard.  He worked most of his career in the electronics wholesale business.  Through the years he was actively involved with the Alzheimer’s Association, National MS Society, and Tough Love.

Everett had a love for music and his favorite pastime was playing the guitar and singing with the family.  He instilled that love of music to his children and grandchildren.  He loved traveling whenever he could and watching his “cowboy” western movies in the evenings.  He also was known to have a camera or camcorder in his hand in his younger days, so we are blessed with many photographic and video memories of our family, friends, and places he traveled.  Most of all, Everett enjoyed any time with his large family especially when all could be together at one time.

The family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to the UAMS Neurology Stroke Team and Arkansas Hospice for their tender and compassionate care during our Dad’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arkansas Hospice.
