Evelyn Louise Massey Sorrells

Evelyn Louise Massey Sorrells, age 86, of Amity, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018. She was born on July 15, 1932, in Point Cedar, the daughter of Donald Otto Massey and Velvie Fendley Massey. She was preceded in death by her three children, Donnie Sorrells, Troyce Sorrells and Vickie Smith; her husband, Delmer Sorrells; her parents; and her brother, Clodus Massey. Evelyn was a member of the Amity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening and talking about her children and grandchildren, whom she adored. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Greta and Tony Doster; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Celeste Sorrells, all of Amity; five grandchildren, Valarie Doster Lyons, and her husband, Jason, of Amity; Jeffrey Sorrells of Bryant, Brady Sorrells of North Little Rock, Clayton Sorrells of Benton and Suzanne Sorrells of Arkadelphia; her great-grandson, Brent Lyons and his wife, Kortni, of Amity; and she was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first great-great-granddaughter, Kaylynn Lane Lyons; one sister, Donna Sue Huffman of Sheridan; one brother, Edward Massey of Glenwood; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 23, 2018, in the Golden Cemetery with Clayton Sorrells officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Sorrells, Brady Sorrells, Clayton Sorrells, Jason Lyons, Brent Lyons and Tony Doster. Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of the Courtyard Garden Health and Rehabilitation and The Plaza at Twin Rivers in Arkadelphia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Evelyn to the Amity United Methodist Church. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
