Evelyn J. Allen

Evelyn J. Allen, age 72, of Texarkana, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016. She was born on March 16, 1944 in Langley, the daughter of Oder Huddleston Kennedy and Mary Louise Smithey Kennedy. On August 10, 1962, she was married to Yewoul Allen. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a retired florist. She was known as the "Flower Lady." She is survived by her husband, Yewoul Allen; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sunday and John Kadzielski, and Pam and David Peters, all of Texarkana, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Summer Peters and Hollie Peters; her brother, Clay Kennedy of Texarkana, Texas; and her sister, Joyce McMurry of Genoa. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 7, 2016, in the Langley Hall Church with Dr. David Holder officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Langley Hall Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Kennedy, Tim Allen, Adrian Lauck, Phillip Mitchell, Allen Moran and Justin McMurry. Honorary pallbearers will be David Peters and John Kadzielski.
