Evelyn Annice Howell, 79, of Little Rock, passed away on December 22, 2009. Annice, as she liked to be called, was born May 16, 1930 to Eunice Godbehere and Samuel Houston Hardin in Mauldin, Arkansas. Tragically, Mr. Hardin died when Annice was three years old and her mother remarried Harold A. Howell, who later adopted Annice. She graduated from Little Rock High and worked for the Federal Reserve Bank for 35 years. Among the many joys of her life were reading books, watching television and eating at the many different restaurants near the bank downtown and in the Heights area where she lived.
She is survived by an aunt and several cousins in the Mt. Ida and Hot Springs area. She is also survived by her "extended" family which includes her Godson, Dr. Werner Schneider, his wife, Sharon and son, Nathan; Michael Schneider and children, Hunter and Bianca; Norbert Schneider and son, Patrick; Diana Paul and husband, Mike and son, Eric, as well as many friends and associates.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). The funeral service will be Monday, December 28 at 12:30 p.m. at Highland Valley United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Daniel Kirkpatrick, with interment to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Memorials may be made to one's charity of choice.
