Evelyn Carson

Evelyn W. Carson went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2019 with family beside her. She was born on
November 29, 1928 to Ora “Nig” and Lue Vena (Dixon) Stroud. She enjoyed keeping up with all her
friends and family. She was a faithful member of Curtis Assembly of God. She worked in the cafeteria in
Gurdon High School before retiring in 1995. In 2007 she moved to Austin, Arkansas and then later to
Cabot.
On June 24, 1944 she was united in marriage to W.B. “Kit” Carson, he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Kit Carson Sr. (Sheena) and Ricky T. Carson (Terry); grandchildren, Misty Hill,
Kit Carson Jr., Brent Cooper (Terry), Sheryne Wilkerson, Chris Norcia (Quintin) and Stephanie Wheetly
(Ronald); great-grandchildren, Hana, Jorden and Camryn Cooper, Luna Wilkerson, Savanaha and Joseph
Montgomery, Treavor Banks, Ryan Murdock; sisters-in-law, Verdia Stroud and Sally Jo Dalton; and many
other family members. She was preceded in death by parents and brothers, Olen and R.W. Stroud;
sister, Clara Mae Hayes; and great-granddaughter, Emily. She will be missed by many who kept company
with her. The family would like to thank Spring Creek Nursing and Rehab and Kindred Hospice for taking
such good care of her.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Harts Chapel Cemetery in Curtis.
