Eva Chambers, 80, of North Little Rock passed away Friday, April 3, 2009 at Baptist Springhill after a long illness ?Going to see Jesus?. She was born September 29, 1928 in Ft. Smith to Ernest Herbert and Winnie Williams McLellan.
She was a member of Graves Memorial Baptist Church, a pianist and organist for over 50 years, a camp counselor and sponsor of (many) children to Siloam Springs Baptist Encampment. She graduated from nurses training from Baptist School of Nursing in Little Rock in 1951 and graduated from University of Central Arkansas in 1976 with a masters degree in nursing. She worked at Trinity Hospital for 2 years, Baptist Memorial Hospital for 13 ? years, Doctors Hospital in Little Rock for 3 years and VA Fort Roots until retirement in 1995. Upon retirement in 1995, she traveled extensively abroad, and the U.S. toured England, France, Germany, Holland, Russia, Thailand, China and Japan and many more. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzle fan.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Chambers, of Maumelle and Missie Chambers and her husband, Bob Shelton, of North Little Rock; four grandsons, Jack Dollarhide and wife, Kelly, of Cabot, Oscar Wayne Chambers, of North Little Rock, Roy Edward Chambers, of LSU and Logan P. Kaplan and wife, Barbie of Burlington, Wisconsin; three great-grandchildren, Abby and Josh Dollarhide and Blaine Patino, of Burlington, Wisconsin; brother, Warren McLellan and his wife, Wanda, of Ft. Smith; sister, and Paula McLellan Curnutt, of Hardy. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward (Ed) Chambers; parents; son, Hal Chambers; brother, Brian Gene McLellan and sister, Mildred Rae McLellan.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park.
