Eugene Williams

Eugene (Gene) Williams, age 73, of Cabot went to sit beside his Lord on November 11, 2016. The Lord knew he was going to be called home Friday, but Gene's family was very surprised.

Gene was born December 18, 1942 in Lonoke County to Johnnie and Mrytle Williams. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Gene worked diligently at numerous places of employment during his life; including thirty - three years as a Pressman at IBF; five years at Weyerhauser and the last ten years at Falcon Jet. He retired in July. Gene never met a stranger, in fact, He often ran into those he forged life long relationships with. He had a way of developing deep ties with those he worked with and those he went to church with. Friendship came easy for him. Gene was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is a life long member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tillman, J.A., J.C., Robert; sisters, June Morries and Louise Lillico.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty six years, Louise; son, Andrew Williams and wife, Debbie of Stelzenberg, Germany; daughter, Robin Williams of Cabot; two grandchildren, Lily and Sean; one brother, Billy Gene Williams and his wife, Carolyn; two sisters, Pearl Swan and Juanita Wooley all of Cabot.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Cabot, with burial in Lebanon Cemetery, McRae. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, a certified Veterans Care provider.
