Eugene Bush Thompson, 81, of Little Rock, AR, died February 9, 2017. He was born May 16, 1935 in Little Rock to Eugene and Verna Roller Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 46 years, Barbara Thompson, and a brother, William Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Thompson and daughter, Gena Miller, both of Little Rock; his son, Patrick Thompson; sisters, Dorothy Withers, Rachel Reed (Hank), Sue Beeson, and brothers, Doyle Thompson (Susie) and Mike Thompson of Little Rock; sister, Mary Watson (Curt) of Bryant; brother, Joe Thompson (Melva) of Alexander; sister, Ruth Carey of Birmingham, AL; brother, Jimmy Thompson of Mabelvale; sister, Esther Brown (Wayne) of Bella Vista; and brother, Johnny Thompson of Conway; stepdaughters, Kim Santacruz of North Little Rock and Stacy Smith (Bob) of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Valley Ranch Nursing Home for the excellent care Gene received.

Gene served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from Kroger after 43 years. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.) on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Norman Payne officiating, with military honors, and visitation and reception following.
