Eugene C. Gray, 80, of Maumelle, passed away February 14, 2018. He was born in Colt, Arkansas to Jim and Marie Gray, the youngest of their nine children. Gene was a boxer at the Boys' Club, and went on to become the Mid-South Golden Gloves Champion. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a member of the Marines' boxing team which traveled to Tokyo, China and other places in the world to entertain the troops. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Marines.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen Mullins Gray, sons, Sam, Billy and Ray, daughter, Gloria, and seven siblings, Mildred, Carlene, Louise (Sis), J.W., Hassie, Louie and James. He is survived by his sister, Jane; children, Aubrey, Teresa and Jay; his Sweetheart, Helen Pat Capps, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other family members and friends. Family and friends will be holding Memorable Moments on Wednesday, February 21 at 1:30 p.m. in the recreation room at 100 Audubon Dr., Maumelle, AR 72113.
