Eugene W. Evans was born on June 2nd, 1930 and passed away May 20, 2014. "Gene" was a veteran of the Korean War, a Sgt., and received Army OCCP. Medal in Japan, a National Defense Service Medal, a United National Service Medal , a Defense Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars and he was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rites as well as a member of the American Legion Post 71 in Cabot, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife Rosalie; children Ernie of Washington State, Connie Clay of North Little Rock, Cindy Smith of North Little Rock, Danny Evans (Tina ) of Lonoke, Dan Edward Barnhart(Loretta) of Austin, Arkansas and a son -in-law Rick Linker.
He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Barnhart and a daughter Theresa Linker. Other Survivors include two sisters Ruth Burgess of League City, Texas and Margaret Denton of Cleveland, Texas, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 4 step-children Jerry Berry, Larry Berry, Annette Compton and Rosetta Watson.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2014 at Levy United Methodist Church at 701 W 47th St, North Little Rock, AR 72118. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, at Prairie View Cemetery in Prairie View Arkansas (near Scranton). Visitation will from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.
