Ethel Ruby McCaslin

Ethel “Ruby” McCaslin, age 91, of Royal, died on Monday, December 26, 2022.

She was born on December 3, 1931, in Bastrop, Louisiana, to Jesse Humphreys and Ethel Mae Jones Humphreys.  On July 2, 1949, she married Emmit Ralph McCaslin, who in 2011 preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Sam McCaslin and Michael McCaslin; and four siblings, Ishmael, Pauline, Juanita and Ross.

Ruby was a member of Forest Hills Church of God.  She was quiet in nature, good hearted and loving.  Her and Emmit  moved to California in 1964 before moving back to Arkansas in 1993.  They had a love for traveling in their RV.  She loved her family and was very active in their education.   Ruby loved searching for her family history, music and most of all she loved to paint.  Her legacy is very large with her many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who loved her and will all greatly miss this wonderful woman.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Charlie and Tooie McCaslin of Reseda, California, Emmett and Tani McCaslin of Bodfish, California and Danny McCaslin of Royal; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Dan Lawniczak of Royal and Cyndie and Steve Schneider of Madison, Alabama; fourteen grandchildren, Cassie, Toby, Jonah, Michelle, Melissa, Corey, Collin, Crystal, Danny Jr., Debbie, Autumn, Mark, Lauryn, and Theresa; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at The Atrium of Serenity Point and the nurses and staff of Dierksen Hospice for all the care they gave her.
