Ethel Mae Martindale, 94, of North Little Rock died on Sunday, April 27, 2008. She was born on January 5, 1914 in Ogden (Little River County), Arkansas to Earl and Ida Lillian Spangler. She was married to Thomas Joseph Martindale, who preceded her in death in 1976.
Ethel is survived by her two children, Thomas Melvin Martindale of Camdenton, Missouri and Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Martindale of Maumelle, Arkansas; grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Martindale, of Phoenix, Arizona, Thomas Clay Martindale, of Annandale, Virginia, Richard Todd Martindale, of Washington, D.C., Michael Charles Thompson, of North Little Rock and Amy Elizabeth Thompson, of Stonington, Connecticut; and ten great grandchildren.
Ethel dearly loved her family and home in North Little Rock where she lived for most of her adult life. She was active in her children?s activities, her church, and the Order of Eastern Star. After her children went to college, she began what was to be a long career in retail women?s fashions in Little Rock, Park Hill and Lakewood until retirement. Her warm, friendly, energetic personality endeared her to all.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
