Estus Richard Thomason age 83 of Arkadelphia formerly of Alpine passed away from this life Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at St Joseph's Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs. He was born November 2, 1927 the son of the late Omer Givens and Etta Adams Thomason. He was a sawmill worker and member of Alpine Missionary Baptist Church. After moving to Arkadelphia, he and his wife attended First Assembly of God Church. Estus enjoyed fishing, gardening and most of all spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Hattie Jane Palmer Thomason; his parents; three brothers, Lee, Judson and J. W. Thomason.
Survivors are one son, Nicky Thomason and wife, Kathy of Arkadelphia; two daughters, Janette Gray and husband, Dale of Malvern; Dana Holder of Arkadelphia; one brother, Billy Thomason and wife, Edith of Alpine; seven grandchildren, Dustin and Keli Thomason; Rebecca and Matt Holder; Phil McDaniel, Holly Graham and Aaron Gray; six great-grandchildren, Terra Graham, Brittney, Mason and Phillip McDaniel; D. J. Goins and Ryan Rocha; four great-great grandchildren, Kaden, Kambree and Taige Prather and Skylor Bagwell.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, January 14th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Nathan Rogers and Bro. David Young officiating. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery at Amity. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Online guest register is available at
