Esther Lorene (Peggy) Mitchell, 96, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017. Esther was born January 7, 1921 in Jacksonville, Arkansas to the proud parents, Harry Hamilton and Grace Elizabeth (Southerland) Hamilton.
She lived in the Arkansas area her entire life except for a brief move to California in 1951.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, of 24 years, Cleo E. Mitchell; three brothers, Earnest and Homer Hamilton and Lloyd Earles; two sisters, Patsy Winfrey and Maxine Morris; and one grandson, Vincent Wayne Morris.
She is survived by her three sons, Edward Harold, Marshall and Thomas (Shirley) Morris; three grandchildren, Vickie Elrod, Roxanna and Eric Morris; two great-grandchildren, Maddie and Myles Caldwell; two sisters, Dorothy McAllister and Jeanette Moody; brother, Harry Hamilton, Jr.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She is also survived by four step-granddaughters; nine step great-grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kensett. She was a loving mother and dear friend to everyone and will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery.
