Estelle Wilson, age 77, of Caney, AR, died Friday, January 30, 2015. She was born June 27, 1937, in Hot Spring County, the daughter of Vernon and Ruby Simonds Efird. She worked for National Rejectors 18 years, served on the school board for Ouachita High School for 22 years having served as President for 18 of those years. She was a member of Caney Baptist Church where she served as Youth Leader for many years. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margelle Hartsell.
Survivors include her husband, Louie Wilson, one son, Stephen Wilson and his wife, Kimberly, of Caney, one daughter, Linda Thompson and her husband, Paul, of Springdale, one brother, Gaston "Mutt" Efird and his wife, Elderie, of Caney, one sister, Laverne Cagle and her husband, Tommy, of Caney, two grandchildren, Holly Wilson Hughes and her husband, Jonathan, and Jordon Thompson.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 2nd, in the Caney Baptist Church with Bro. Hollis McDermott and Bro. Ralph Ruffin officiating. Burial will be in the Burnett Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Caney Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be David and Scott Cagle, Vernon Hartsell, Wayne Weatherford, Ronnie Efird, Dewayne Hancock, Mike Rucker, and Tim Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and nieces and members of Caney Baptist Church.
