Esta Melanie ?Granny? Montoya, 92, of North Little Rock lost her battle with ovarian cancer, November 25, 2008, while surrounded by her family. She was born on October 21, 1916 to Elisha and Hattie McCabe in Adona, Arkansas. She married Jimmy Montoya on June 30, 1935. She retired from Randall Byers Interiors at the age of 91 after 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandson, Franklin Junior Holley III; and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Jimmie F. Montoya-Treadway, of Little Rock; granddaughters, Kerijo Halpine (Kenny) of Little Rock, Kelli Freeman and Karla Ambort; great grandchildren, Toni Apel (Jeremy), Christopher Koscielny (Maegan), and Krissi Holley all of North Little Rock and Stevie Hagerman and Robert Geddings III of Forsyth Missouri; great-great-grandchildren, Alexander and Caleb Hagerman, Chanse, Ryan and Jacob Koscielny and Emma Maree Apel; brother, Matthew McCabe of Portland, Oregon; long-time friend, Arnold Ambrose who she worked with those 40 years; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Our special thanks and gratitude, for all the loving care ?Granny? received, to the Dr.?s and Nurses at UAMS Cancer Research Center, especially Buffy and staff at UAMS gynecology clinic, Nurses and staff at ACRC Infusion center. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St. 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
