Ernest Lee "Steve" Stephenson passed away November 15th, 2018, at the age of 86. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 27th, with viewing at 10:00 a.m. and services following at 11:00 a.m. at Bayou Meto Baptist Church on Hwy 107 North, Jacksonville. A military burial will be held at the Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock at 1:00 p.m. Steve was born February 9, 1932, in Willow Springs, Missouri to Ernest Eli and Reva (Wallen) Stephenson Green. He joined the United States Air Force in 1950 which took him to Kansas where he married Jo Ann Buchanan in 1952. His career included assignments to Alaska, North Dakota, Arkansas, Texas, and he was a Viet Nam veteran serving from 1969 to 1970. He retired in 1971 and moved back to Arkansas where he settled near Little Rock Air Force Base. Ernest Lee was the father of three children, Barbara JoAnn Resimont, William Vernon Stephenson, and Ernest Lee Stephenson II, and "Grampy" to six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Steve is survived by 2 sisters, Kay Losh of Plano, Texas, and Connie Hiler of Willow Springs, Missouri , and many nephews and nieces. Ernest Lee, Steve, and Grampy is loved and will be missed by his many friends and family.
