Ernest McClinton

October 22, 1951 — October 26, 2021

Ernest McClinton

On October 22, 1951, Ernest McClinton was the oldest of six children born to Ernest Sr. and Verma McClinton.  He was baptized at an early age at St. Peter Rock in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Ernest graduated from Horace Mann High School and attended Oklahoma Junior College, in which he appeared on the Dean's Honor Roll.

In 1974, he met and married the love of his life, Nora Williams, and to this union a blended family was formed of three sons and one daughter.

Ernest was a 32nd Degree Mason of Lodge #165 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He was self-employed as a general contractor painter in Fresno, California and in Oklahoma.  His last employment was at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds until his health failed.

Ernest met no stranger.  He enjoyed people of all ages.  He would help anyone in need.  Ernest enjoyed good friends, his cars, playing cards, and going to the casino. You could always find him at a good card game talking noise.  He was an awesome provider and husband to Nora, his wife of 47 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Verma McClinton's one brother, Terry McClinton.

Ernest departed this life on October 26, 2021 and leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife, Nora McClinton; sons, Ernest McClinton III (Pasadena) of Germantown, Tennessee, Lamont McClinton of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Louis Chatman (Dena) of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Tracey Robinson of Little Rock; sisters, Vera McClinton, Ernestine Colston of Modesto, California, Alma Jean McClinton of Little Rock, Shirley McClinton of Modesto; brother, Bernard McClinton of Modesto; five brothers-in-law and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
