Ernest Calvin Gooding Jr. age 62 of Gurdon died Friday, August 08, 2008 at his home. He was born April 22, 1946 in Jacksonville, Florida the son of Ernest Calvin Gooding Sr. and Lucille Baldree Gooding.
Ernest served in the United States Army, and was retired from J. C. Penney. Ernest was currently the corporate purchasing manager for Southern Bancorp, the Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 24 of Arkadelphia, and very active in the Arkadelphia community.
Ernest is survived by his wife Cathy Thomas Gooding; three sons Adam Gooding of Lufkin, TX, Benjamin and wife Lydia Gooding of Jacksonville, NC, and Zachary Gooding of the home, one granddaughter Addison Gooding, one brother Frank Gooding of Cordell GA., and one sister Cathryn Gooding of Jacksonville, FL.
Services will be at 2:00 P. M. Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Arkadelphia. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday 6-8 PM at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to Boy Scouts of America, 102 Chippewa Ct., Hot Springs, AR. 71901 or American Cancer Society c/o Lora Drennan, Regions Bank, P O Box 218, Arkadelphia, AR.
