Erman W. Mauldin

Erman W. Mauldin, age 81, of Amity, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023.

He was born on June 13, 1941, in Caddo Gap, son of Author Olen Mauldin and Viola Horn Mauldin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sue Mauldin; his son-in-law, Steve Risner; his two brothers, Curtis Mauldin and Charles Mauldin; and his three sisters, Ola Mae Mauldin, Katherine Caudell, and Benita Royce.

Erman married the love of his life, Sue Fendley Mauldin on October 15, 1960. He was a Baptist in his faith, going to the woods to talk to his Lord daily. Erman started working as a logger at the young age of 12, being known by all as a hard worker. Everyone knew his kind and generous heart, every child that met Erman loved him. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to fish and hunt. Erman was a brother to all, he was a wonderful husband, daddy, and papaw. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Treva Risner of Amity; three grandchildren, Steven “Bud” Risner of Hot Springs, Shanny Risner of Amity, and Jan Risner LaFevers of Rosboro, two “adopted” sons, Greg and Dewayne Henthorn of Amity, his brother and sister-in-law, James and Shirley Mauldin; his sister, Edith Wright; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the Glenwood First Baptist Church with Bro. John McAnally officiating.

Interment will be in Jones Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ritchie Richardson, Rick Francis, Daniel Henthorn, Andrew Samuel, Seth Davidson, and Jerry O’Connell.

Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Matthew Hulsey, Dr. Albert Chinn, Ellen Moreland, Dr. Fred Divers and the crew at Jeremy's Sport Shop.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, 209 North 3^rd St, Glenwood, AR 71943.
