Eric Todd Grimmett

Eric Todd Grimmett, age 46, of Hot Springs, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

He was born on January 8, 1976, in Osceola, the son of Joe Grimmett and Sandy McDonald Grimmett. On July 24, 2007, he married Darlene Spradlin.

Eric was a Christian in his faith. He worked as a EMT for LifeNet, was a volunteer fireman for the Piney Fire Department, and well known for his many years as chef at J&S Italian Villa. He was a member of the Nationally Registered EMT, Fire Fighter II, Fire Investigators and Fire Fighter Instructors. Some people spend their whole lives wondering if they made a difference, Eric devoted his life to making a difference. He was a hero to many, but a friend to all. Eric has such a passion for serving those around him with LifeNet, Piney Fire Department, or acting as Sham’s right-hand man in the kitchen. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Martin Truex Jr., you could always find Eric with the NASCAR race roaring, watching the entire race with his loving wife, Darlene. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Darlene Grimmett of Hot Springs; his father, Joe Grimmett of Hot Springs; his mother, Sandy McDonald of Hot Springs; his son, Jeff Hutchings of Hot Springs; two daughters, Sarah Hutchings and T. J. Hutchings both of Hot Springs; six grandchildren, Ayden, Olivia, Barrett, Kevin, Lindsey and Kendra; one great-grandchild, River; three brothers, his twin, Jason Grimmett, Aaron Grimmett and Jeremiah (Loretta) Miller; two sisters, Christina (Lew) Jessup and Robin (Ryan) Busch; several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be 2:30 PM, Monday, February 7, 2022, with Morgan Golden officiating in the Smith Family Funeral Home, Hot Springs. (Formerly known as Davis-Smith Funeral Home).
Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM, prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Jason Grimmett, Terrell Williams, Klay Hall, Matt Scroggins, Travis Pirtle and Erik Montgomery.

Honorary pallbearers are Misty Williams, Sham Afkhami, Shah Marie Afkhami, Jamar Afkhami, Audrey McNeal and all of his LifeNet and Piney family.
