Enoch Pate, age 82, of Siloam Springs, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 25, 2024. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Enoch was born in Norman, Arkansas on February 22, 1942. He was the son of James Thomas Pate and Dorothy Nell (Brumbley) Pate.
A true American patriot, Enoch proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. A decorated combat veteran, he fought alongside his Army Infantry brothers in several engagements on the Cambodian border. As a veteran of the First Infantry Division, Enoch was in regular contact with the lifelong friends he made in The Big Red One.
Upon completion of his Army service, Enoch returned to the United States, settling in Imperial Beach, California where he met and married the love of his life, Darlene Pate. Enoch was an astute businessman. Enoch founded ENO Drywall Company in the San Diego area. Together with Darlene, they made quite a team, building a successful business focused on construction and real estate investing. One of Enoch’s special memories was when he and Darlene bought a failing Shell service station, and through hard work, strong business acumen and lots of prayer, they turned that dealership into a thriving and successful location. Shell management recognized these efforts by awarding Enoch "Dealer of the Year" his first year in business!
Enoch’s faith in Jesus Christ was the central theme of his life. He shared the Good News with any who would listen, leading countless people to the Lord throughout his life. He was a genuine and steady presence in the lives of others - the same Christian man wherever you saw him. Enoch was a wonderful husband, daddy, papa, brother, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Darlene Pate; his twin brother, Elijah Pate; and his two sisters, Ruby Corbett and Mary Jo Cambrian. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, LaDona and John Arbuckle of Siloam Springs, AR; his two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Ronda Davis of Modesto, CA, and Paul and Jamie Pate of Colorado Springs, CO; his ten grandchildren, Brittany, Madison, Seth, Avery, Gracie, Analise, Sawyer, Dustin, Luke, and Mark; his three great-grandchildren, Richard, Anita, Tucker James (and another one on the way!); his two brothers, John Pate and James Pate; his sister, Almeda Tyree; and his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
