Emogene G Martin

  Emogene Martin, 93, shared her last moments of life surrounded by loved ones at Conway Regional Medical Center on November 5, 2024. She was born on July 16, 1931, to the late Fred and Emma Gwatney. Emogene was a homemaker and a caretaker for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known by many names, but Granny was her favorite. She loved being active in her grandchildren’s endeavors. She loved yard sales and going to the casino (“that one machine”). When visiting her, you could always expect a homecooked meal. She will be missed by many.

  She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Martin, son Ray Martin, brothers Clarence Gwatney, Tim Gwatney, Sonny Gwatney, and Chester Gwatney. Sisters Ethel Smith and Clara Taylor. She is survived by daughters Nellie (Bill) Matchett, Connie (Blake) Allison; sons William (Judy) Martin, Bobby (Margaret) Martin, Jerry (Debbie) Martin, Bill (Geneva) Martin; sister Ginger Green; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. 

  Her visitation will be November 7, 2024, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas from 4-6PM. A graveside service will be held at Hartje Cemetery, Conway, Arkansas on November 8, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
