Emmitt Carl White

Emmitt Carl White, age 78, of Umpire, went to meet the Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2022.

He was born on December 27, 1943, in Hot Springs, the son of Clayton and Emma Edwards White.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vic White and Kim White; and his sister, Lavern White.

Emmitt was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church for fifty-three years.  He was also a member of the Buffalo Gap Masonic Lodge 484 for fifty-five years, where he served as Grand Master two times.  Emmitt was a retired heavy equipment operator and millwright.  He loved his family and loved fishing, hunting, checking his cows, metal work, woodworking and driving his four-wheeler and his 1965 chevy pickup truck.

Emmitt is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Beth White of Umpire; his children and their spouses, Kenneth White of Royal, Deborah and Cole Hammock of Langley, Stephen and Julie White of Florida and Misty and Matt Partee of Daisy; his six grandchildren, Mary, Macy, Reece, Stephen Jr, Tori and Cally Jo; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Miles; and numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 23, 2022, in the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Lock and Bro. Scott Feemster officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood.

Interment will be in the Langley Hall Cemetery.
