Emmitt Lamar ?Marty? Coker, 85, of Conway died at his home Tuesday, January 6, 2009. Marty was born November 30, 1923, in Plainview, Arkansas to Tom and Effie McGhee Coker. He was a Navy veteran, a retired switchman for the Missouri Pacific Railroad, and a member of Liberty Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edgar Coker and J.L. Coker; and one sister, Mildred Coker.
Marty is survived by his wife of 48 years, Eldean Coker, of Conway; one sister, Lois Hargan, of Batesville; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 9 at Liberty Church of Christ in Conway. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
