Emmett R. Holyfield, 88, of Little Rock, died on Wednesday, November 14, 2007. He was a member of the Lions Club, Shrine Temple, and Masonic Lodge in Illinois, and was a hospice volunteer. Mr. Holyfield was a veteran of the Army Air Corps in World War II and an Air Force veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Carrie Holyfield; his son, Kevin Holyfield and his wife, Lesli; grandsons, Christopher and Tyler Holyfield; and granddaughter, Michelle Smick. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gene Shaffer Holyfield, and daughter, Ruby Tietbohl.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 18, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner of I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 19, at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Sue Howe, followed by interment in Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton.
