Emmett Brockinton

Emmett Lois Brockinton, 96, of Olmstead died peacefully on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. He was a member and deacon of the Community of Christ Church in North Little Rock where he was also in charge of maintenance. Emmett was a farmer who grew the best sweet corn, watermelons, purple hull peas, and many other delicious vegetables. He loved Blue Grass music and also worked at Pulaski County School District for many years.
He is survived by four sons; Leroy (Edna) Brockinton of Cabot, Charles (Doris) Brockinton and Donnie (Iris) Brockinton of Jacksonville; and Kyle (Barbara) Brockinton of Sherwood; two daughters; Wilma Lewis and Carolyn Williford of Jacksonville; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 76 years, Dimple Hooks Brockinton, his daughter, Linda Sims; three grandchildren, Debra Sims, Scott Brockinton and Darrell Brockinton.
The family would like to thank the staff of Woodland Hills and Hospice for their love and care and especially Cindy Johnson for her special love and care for the last seven years.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
