Emma Dee Addy age 95, of Arkadelphia passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014 in Bryant. She was born November 6, 1918 in Lonsdale, Arkansas to James Egbert and Bebie Daniel Houpt. Emma owned and operated a beauty shop in Hot Springs for eighteen years. After she and her husband moved to Arkadelphia, she worked at Holland's Department Store . She was a member or Faith Missionary Baptist Church where she played the piano and was involved with the Women's Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Henry "Dick" Addy on January 14, 2006. She was also preceded in death by three brothers in infancy, two brothers, E. M. "Buddy" Houpt and D. Earl Houpt and one sister, Katherine "Sug" Thomas.
Survivors are one son, Henry "Dicky" Addy Jr. of Little Rock; one brother, James (Jeanette) Houpt of Swansea, Illinois and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, October 27th at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Bro. James Calhoun officiating. Visitation will be noon until 1:30 PM Monday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
