Elsa Faye Doss

December 17, 1935 — October 31, 2016

Elsa Faye Doss, age 80, of Amity, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016. She was born on December 17, 1935, in Alpine, the daughter of William Jasper Pittman and Nora Miracle Pittman. On September 23, 1953, she was married to Larry Lamont Doss, who preceded her in death on December 27, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kenneth Pittman. She was a member of the Word of Faith Outreach in Amity, enjoyed traveling with Sister Mary Forsythe, where they would minister and share their faith in the Lord, and she also enjoyed any opportunity to witness by singing. There was never a doubt in anyone's mind that Elsa truly loved her Lord and enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, proclaiming her faith. Elsa worked beside her husband for many years on the dairy farm; was a true sports enthusiast; but above all, her greatest joy in life was cooking for everyone and always making sure her family was taken care of. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and will be deeply missed. She is survived by three sons, Larry Lamont Doss, Jr. and his wife, Brenda, Russell James Doss and his wife, Nancy, and Edward Charles Doss, all of Amity; two daughters, Sharon Romaine Doster and her husband, Bruce, and Vicki Doss Davis, all of Amity; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three sisters, Irene Pate Hickman and her husband, Gene, of Arkadelphia, Lilly Hancock and her husband, Robbie, of Hot Springs, and Thelma Robertson of Benton; her sister-in-law, Orene Pittman of Alpine; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 2, 2016, in the Word of Faith Outreach with Bro. Jimmy Forsythe, Bro. Keith Howell and Sister Mary Forsythe officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the service. Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Adam Godwin, Noah Johns, Paul Pittman, Orey Doss, Ed May and Josh Boyette. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
