Eloise Powers Miller, 92, went home to be with her Lord Jesus on December 17, 2016. She was born in Little Rock on June 11, 1924, to Thomas D. and Gladys E. Powers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Eloise was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Thomas Powers, Dan Shelby Powers and John Preston Powers; and her sister Mary Katherine Powers Walls.
She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Arthur O. Miller; her son James A. Miller and his wife Sue Ellen of New Ulm, Texas; and her daughter, Janet Osborne and her husband James of Little Rock. Eloise is also survived by six grandchildren: Collin Miller (Julie) of Sugar Land, Texas; Ross Miller (Jessica) of New Ulm, Texas; Rachel Bennett (Brian), Joshua Osborne (Mandy), Caleb Osborne (Stephanie) and Micah Osborne (Kelsey) all of Little Rock. She is survived by her thirteen great-grandchildren: Zachary, Grant, Riley, Caitlyn and Courtney Miller of Texas; and Mary Eloise (Ellie), Mollie and Annie Bennett, Noah, Sam, Silas, Abigail and Jack Osborne all of Little Rock.
Eloise is also survived by her sister Betty Powers Yeary (Ralph) of Little Rock and brother Pat Powers of Philadelphia, PA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Eloise cared for, prayed for and cheered on her husband and kids to be the best they could be. As much as she loved her family, she loved her Lord Jesus more. She was an avid student of God's word, studying constantly until dementia took her ability to do so. She was a gifted artist. Eloise was never sitting without working on some sort of hand work, cross-stitch, knitting or tatting. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Little Rock.
The family would like to thank the loving and caring staff of Elmcroft Heartland Village in Maumelle for the excellent care they provided Eloise over the past 3 ½ years. In the last years of her life, they helped Eloise maintain the dignity that dementia sought to take. They showed her and our family tireless love, care and patience.
