Elnora Josephine Hoke

Elnora Josephine Broadway Hoke, 87, of Houston, Texas, passed away Friday, May 19^th, 2023. She was born March 19, 1936, near Bismarck, Arkansas, one of seven children of the late Jesse and Flossie Broadway.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and she was a lifelong Sunday School teacher. She was a hairdresser and an instructor for many years, and she owned her own beauty shop.

Josephine loved attending church with her family, reading her Bible, and listening to Southern gospel music. She was an avid coffee drinker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Willie Wayne Meddley and Charles Hoke and five of her siblings.

She is survived by her children: Randy Meddley of Hot Springs, Ray (Diane) Meddley of Parrish, Florida, Paula Wychopen of Spring, Texas and Judy (Stephen) Foster of Bacliff, Texas; one sister, Mary Ross of Avery, Texas; twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 26^th, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Bismarck Missionary Baptist Church with services following at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Don Goodman officiating.

Interment will be at Old Bismarck Cemetery after the service.
