Ellen "June" Pool, 66, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed from this life on April 22, 2009 after a short illness. Ms. Pool went to Hollywood High School in Los Angeles, California. From there, June demonstrated her independence by joining the U.S. Air Force and achieving the rank of Sergeant. She met and married a career Air Force man, Charles Lynn, with whom she had three lovely children, Tanya, Brett, and Kyle. June was afforded the opportunity to live in Hawaii for a number of years where she worked as a hairdresser and drug counselor. Some of her fondest memories were packing the children up and heading to the beach in her convertible Volkswagen beetle.
She returned to Oklahoma and for the past 25 years, worked as a "LandMam" researching mineral rights. Her major loves were her three children, six grandchildren, a spirited democratic debate and Sooner sports. Family and friends will remember June as a very loving and giving person who was forever young at heart.
Preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Weaver, her father, Allen Pool, and a son, Kyle Lynn, she is survived by her daughter, Tanya Lynn of Carrollton, Texas, son, Brett Lynn of Opelika, Alabama and six grandchildren.
Services will be conducted on May 9th at 2:00 p.m. at Smith & Kernke, 14624 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Following the services, June's long time dear friend, Peggy O'Brien, will host a celebration of June's life at 301 Crown Colony Road, Edmond, Oklahoma.
