Ellen Louise (Oldmixon) Nelson, 70, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 29, 2023. She was born on February 22, 1953, in Hackensack, New Jersey, and resided in Lonoke, Arkansas.

After growing up in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, she moved to Bryant, Arkansas, to raise a family. She retired from the postal service after 20 years and built her dream home in Lonoke.

Ellen had a deep love for her cats and especially her dog, Zoie, and dedicated her retirement years to caring for them with boundless devotion.

She is survived by her daughters, Shawn Cupit (Brian) of Greenbrier, Meredith Deatherage (Justin) of Benton, and her son Victor Nelson (Liz) of Benton. Ellen was a loving and devoted mother who leaves behind cherished memories for her children. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Karen Oldmixon, nephew David Rinkenback, Amy Hemelgarn, and niece Mandi Carr.

In addition to her children, she is also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Kaleb Metz, Kylie Metz, Kaydee Metz, Austin and Natalie Deatherage, Taylor Brown, and Hunter Cupit. Ellen's love will forever live on in the hearts of her friends and family.

Ellen was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Oldmixon, mother Mildred Schoen, brother Kenneth Oldmixon, and sister Dottie Rinkenback.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association. You can make donations through their website at Alzheimer's Association.

A celebration of life will be held on November 18th, 2023 at 11:00 am at Quitman First Baptist Church, located at: Quitman First Baptist Church 5899 Heber Springs Road West Quitman, Arkansas to celebrate Ellen's life and the impact she had on all of us.

May she rest in the embrace of Christ's arms.
