Ellen Vashti (Smith) Mashburn, she was born in Roland, Arkansas on August 11, 1911 to George and Martha Smith. She was a member of Highway Baptist church where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years in the pre-school department. She is preceded in death by her husband Curtis Mashburn Sr., parents, 8 siblings, 1 infant great grandson, and 1great great grandson. Survived by sons Gerald (Faye) Mashburn, Marshall (Linda) Mashburn daughters Jeanette Warren, Martha Heiman, Joyce McClellan, Dolores (Steve) Dickerson, Deborah (Ron) Katilius, a loving sister-in-law June Mashburn, 22 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother. She loved her Lord, her family, gardening, sewing, and cooking. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. There will be a celebration of life service 2pm Tuesday June 9, 2009 at Highway Baptist Church, North Little Rock, Pastor Mike Overman, former Pastor Larry Ballard, and Dr. James Thomason officiating. Following the service will proceed to Rest Hills Memorial Park for interment. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either Childrens Hospital , or the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends 5:00 - 7:00 pm Monday at Huson Funeral Home 7700 Hwy 107 Sherwood, Arkansas.
