Ella Diemer

Ella "Ione" Brooks Diemer, 77, of Little Rock, passed away October 16, 2016. She was born January 10, 1939 in Sweet Home, Arkansas to the late Pete Brooks and Clara Daniel Brooks.

Ione, affectionately known as "Granny," was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She lived to take care of her family and loved them unconditionally. She loved the Lord and set the perfect example as her door was always open. You could always count on Granny for a homecooked meal, a night of playing cards or just a visit with laughs, hugs and encouragement. She was a member of East Union Missionary Baptist Church.

Ione was preceded in death by her parents; husband, A.W. "Dub" Diemer; children, Betty Diemer and James Diemer; and siblings, Pete Brooks, Betty Thomas and Jean Hutchins. She is survived by her children, Kevin Diemer, Richard Estell (Wynter), Austin Dunn (Adelena) and Liz Diemer; grandchildren, Chris Diemer, Robert Diemer (Jerusha), Keri Diemer, Josh Estell and Jordan Estell; great-grandchild, Jaymee Diemer; and siblings, Donald Brooks (Marilyn), Delores Krisell (Junior) and Judy Martin.

Ione was a resident of Briarwood Nursing and Rehab for almost two years where she was given the utmost care and love by the staff and we are forever grateful. She was loved by everyone who knew her and she will be tremendously missed.

There will be a service on Thursday, October 20 at 7:00 p.m., preceded by visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. at East Union Missionary Baptist Church in East End. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.

Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., (501)224-2200. Ione's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
