Elizabeth Gayle Smith, 71, of Cabot, Arkansas, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother went to her Heavenly Home on February 20, 2025. Born on April 23, 1953, in South Boston, Virginia, Elizabeth dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband of 55 years, James Ray Smith, and their two children and grandchildren.
Elizabeth was the heart of our home and family. She raised two children, Melody (Phillip) of Beebe, and Elizabeth (Matthew) of Cabot. She was a proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Hayden, Haylee, Karson, and Adalyn.
Elizabeth was married for 55 years to her soulmate, James Ray Smith, her high school sweetheart.
Everyone who knew Elizabeth knew how much she loved to cook. She managed the cafeteria at Pinewood Elementary in Jacksonville for 23 years before retiring. Elizabeth was a faithful Christian, a woman of prayer, and had an unwavering belief.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Edward Vanselette, and is survived by her husband, James Smith, and her children and grandchildren.
A visitation is planned for Tuesday, February 25th from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Drive, Beebe, Arkansas followed by the Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 26th at 2:00 p.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Spring Creek Nursing and Rehab and Arkansas Hospice for the loving care and support provided to Elizabeth. Your kindness during her time with you will always be remembered.
