Elizabeth Sawyer, just shy of her 100th birthday, passed away in North Little Rock, on Monday, May 10, 2010. Born on May 21, 1910, in Fort Logan, Colorado, she was one of nine children of Frank and Marie Zeller. She was married for over 50 years to Lyle L. Sawyer, who preceded her in death, as did her siblings and three children, Bettijean Vodra, Rose Marie Sawyer and Lyle L. Sawyer, Jr, and granddaughter, Pamela Brown Showalter She is survived by daughter-in-law, June Sawyer of Castle Rock, Colorado. Grandchildren Connie (Jimmy) Phillips of North Little Rock, Robert L. Brown, Jr. (Alison), of Little Rock; Lynnda Sawyer Kelleher (Tim) of Englewood, Colorado; David Brown (Susan) of North Little Rock; and Drake Sawyer (Kathy) of Castle Rock, Colorado. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Todd Barron (Jennie), Mary Catie and Hallie Brown, Taylor, Cameron, and Casey Sawyer and two great great grandchildren, Cameron Baugh and Bryce Barron.

Mrs. Sawyer lived all but the last 3 years of her life in Denver and Rollinsville, Colorado. She was a homemaker who loved the outdoors and trout fishing, and instilled in her family the value of hard work and having fun.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Robinson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Odyssey Hospice for their excellent care of Grandma Sawyer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one's favorite charity. Burial will take place at a later date at Crown Hill Mausoleum in Denver, Colorado.
