Elizabeth Virginia Godwin of Springdale, Arkansas departed this life on February 13, 2011. She was born on March 10, 1916 in Dallas, Texas the daughter of Hershel Edward and Kathleen Rachel Everett. Elizabeth grew up in Dallas, Texas where she attended Woodrow Wilson High School and later attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Lester Earl Godwin, Jr.; her son James David Godwin, and two grand children. Elizabeth is survived by her two sons Lester Earl Godwin III of Canton, Texas and David Earl Godwin of Springdale, Arkansas; four grandsons and six great grandchildren.
Elizabeth, Mother, Nana loved us all unconditionally and faithfully these many years. She blessed our lives with her constant encouragement and positive outlook on life.
A funeral service celebrating Elizabeth's life will be held in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday before service at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northwest Arkansas Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road Springdale, AR 72762.
