Elizabeth Lane Wynne "Libby" Church, born December 10, 1928 in Nashville, Tennessee. She is predeceased by her parents, Thomas J. Wynne, Jr. and Eva Lane Wynne, and sister, Frances E. Wynne. She is survived by her son, Lee (Kathleen) Church of Sherwood, AR., and daughter, Melissa Church of North Little Rock, AR. Mimi leaves six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and brothers Thomas J. (Jeanie) Wynne III of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Walter E. Wynne of Fairview, Tennessee. Go Big Orange, Libby loved to watch you and cheer.
Libby was a graduate of Ward Belmont College in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a loving mother who always made sure her children had what they wanted growing up. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and worked for the North Little Rock School District, Arkansas Gazette, and Arkansas State Treasurer's Office under Jimmie Lou Fisher as her secretary. Loved by all who knew her, she enjoyed being with family and friends, having toddies with the gang, and lighting up everyone's life with her outgoing personality, friendliness, and bright smile. A shout out to the Spiveys and the Traylors who were Libby's special friends for many years.
Our heartfelt appreciation to Amber, our daughter-in-law, for the tender loving care she gave to Mimi for the final three years of her life. Kathleen was the encouragement to bring Mimi into our home for the special care she needed and deserved. Mimi taught us all so much more about life during her stay with us. She was certainly an inspiration in her own special way. Finally, thank you to the wonderful personnel at Arkansas Hospice who treated her kindly, gently, and with great compassion.
A private ceremony will be held in our home on Saturday September 29th when we honor this wonderful lady with Pastor Roy Thompson of Friendship Baptist Church in Sherwood. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her honor to the Arkansas Fallen Firefighters Memorial or Alzheimer's Research. Sign an online guest book at
