Elizabeth "Betty" Sue Burt, 88, of Arkadelphia, passed away on June 22, 2018. She was born December 14, 1929 to the late Jim and Lallie Humpries in Arkadelphia.
Her family moved to California when she was a child. At eighteen, she met and married Norman Burt. She worked and retired from Coachella Valley High School, where she was the kitchen manager. After retirement, they moved back to Arkansas, where they lived in Kirby. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of Home Extension Club in Kirby and Arkadelphia.
Betty is survived by her children, Elizabeth Diane Pierce of Arizona, Mary Lynn Burt of Arkadelphia, and Michael Norman Burt (Peggy) of Texas; grandchildren, Don Burt (Pamela) and Elizabeth Burt Beber (Michael); great-grandchildren, Kailey Burt, Lily Burt, Maggie Jo Burt, Camron Beber, Olivia Beber, and Benjamin Beber; brother, Bill Humphries (Lois); and cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of forty one years, Norman Eloy Burt; son in law, Larry "Moe" Spencer; brothers, Herman and Garland Humphries; and sisters, Opel Carden and Doris Johnson.
A visitation will be 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. A graveside service will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
