Elise Mitchell

Elise Mitchell, age 80, of Glenwood, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at her home. She was born on June 9, 1939 in Glenwood, the daughter of Leonard Coffman and Geneva Kendricks Coffman. On June 29, 1957, she was married to Johnnie Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Algie Coffman and Gene Coffman; and one sister, Sue Green. Elise was a member of the Glenwood First Baptist Church and active with the Glenwood Senior Adult Center where she loved to play dominoes. For over 35 years, she sold fireworks at her home for July 4th and New Years Eve. Elise loved to keep fit and exercise at the fitness center. She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Mitchell of Glenwood; three children and their spouses, Robin Mitchell of Glenwood, Mickey and Jerrie Mitchell of Umpire and Justin and Sherrie Mitchell of Bauxite; nine grandchildren, Jon Montgomery, Jada Montgomery, Chase Mitchell, Hayes Linville, Caleigh Golden, Morgan Stringer, Brooke Mitchell, James Mitchell and Lauren Shinn; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Roger Coffman of Jacksonville, David Coffman and Albert Coffman, both of Glenwood; one sister, Johnie Horn of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2020, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Erby Burgess and Bro. Hayes Linville officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Mitchell, Chase Mitchell, Jon Montgomery, David Mitchell, Lee Whisenhunt and Mike Breshears. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
