He later served the church as a Lay Preacher and was active in Lay Witness Missions throughout Arkansas and surrounding states.
During World War II Lige served in the Army Air Corps and taught radar technology in Del Ray Beach, Florida. He was discharged at the end of the war as a staff sergeant. The Army?s training in electronics laid the foundation for his working career. Shortly after the War Lige and Marguerite moved back to Little Rock, and he joined Draughon School of Business as an instructor.
