Elias Zohoori, 86, died April 22 at his son's home in Little Rock. He was born on March 31, 1924 in Kermanshah, Iran. In 1955, he married Shahin Boroumand of Tehran, Iran, and in 1969, he and his wife and three children moved to Kingston, Jamaica to serve the Baha'i Community there. Elias served as secretary-general of the National Administrative Body of the Baha'is of Jamaica for 20 years. During this time he also published 8 books about the Baha'i Faith which have been sold in several languages in over 140 countries. He and his wife traveled to many countries before settling in North Little Rock in 2005.
Elias is survived by his wife, Shahin; son, Namvar of Little Rock; two daughters, Niloo Moghbelpour of Melbourne, Australia, and Hedi Dossa of Kingston, Jamaica; nine grandchildren; sisters, Jamileh and Marcella of Los Angeles; and many nieces and nephews. .
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 28 at 4 pm at Hillcrest Hall, 1501 Kavanaugh Blvd, Little Rock.
