Elfreda Owens

Elfreda Marie Owens, age 95, of Hot Springs, AR passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024. Elfreda fondly known as “Skeet”, “Mimi” or “Mims” was born on December 31, 1928, to Clifford and Minnie Kassaw, of Hot Springs, AR.

On October 12, 1946, she married Vernon (Lefty) Owens and was married for 72 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband.

She was a homemaker, an excellent cook, enjoyed hunting, fishing, but most of all her summers were spent in Colorado with her husband, friends and family who she was deeply devoted to.

She is survived by a son, Roger Owens of Hot Springs; a daughter, Jo Cochran (Tony) of Lonoke, AR; Grandsons, Jimmy Owens (Annette) of Little Rock, Zack Eaves (Jami) of Lonoke AR; granddaughter, Melissa Thomey (Deane) of Alexandria, Virginia; Eight great grandchildren, Ava, Sydnee Owens, the late Madeline Thomey, Allison and Natalie Thomey, Steele, Kendall and Wiley Eaves, a host of wonderful relatives and friends, as well as two wonderful caregivers Sammie Wright and Donna Hayden.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Owens, Dave Braughton, Scott Joe, Larry Diggs, Jeff Smith, Rick Seay.

Funeral services will be held on Monday April 15^th , 2024, at 11:00 am in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel with a visitation prior to the service at 10:00am.

Interment will be held at Memorial Garden Cemetery.
